ISB | Tribute to the Defenders
Defending the land of Pakistan is unlike defending any other country. For Pakistan stands for ‘La ilaha illallah’ and protecting this motherland is equal to protecting the Kalimah of Allah (S.W.T). Paying a heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices of our earlier generations, we instil an urge amongst our youth to stay committed, dedicated and productive throughout their lives. Our students from both F-8 and H-11 campuses (Islamabad) enthusiastically participated in special assemblies on Defence Day to express their emotions for this motherland through poetry, speech, interactive presentations, quizzes, a parade and march-past. Professionals representing all three wings of Pakistan Armed Forces; Army, Navy and Air force were invited to speak about the importance of this day and to answer the inquisitive minds at F-8 campus. Students of H-11 campus were excited to learn about this national day from Commander (R) Abid Iqbal [Presently serving as Director Admin and Male HR Manager in AlHuda International Welfare Foundation]. Director AIS, Sir Atif Iqbal also shared the inspirational story of Air Commodore Muhammad Mahmood Alam (SJ) who was officially credited with having downed nine enemy aircrafts during the Indo-Pak War of 1965, including five Hawker Hunter aircraft on one sortie on 7th September 1965. Students from CBR campus also feted the bravery of our armed forces during their morning assembly. The special assemblies ended with the halls resounding with the sound of National Anthem and Dua. May Allah (S.W.T) always protect Pakistan and its defenders. Ameen.
