The meaning of Alhamd is to praise someone out of Love and Respect. It also comes from gratitude and Alhamd is to acknowledge the blessings. We praise Allah ﷻ because we are grateful for the blessings that He has bestowed upon us.

WHY IS HE WORTHY OF IT?

He is the Ultimate Creator. He created the entire creation… every single human being, every kind of animal on land, every creature in the depths of the ocean. Allah ﷻ is the Creator and Owner of all the Heavens and the Earth. This is why He deserves Praise and therefore we thank Him, remember Him & worship only Him.
