Juz 7: وَإِذَاسَمِعُوا

Listen & Reflect!

The people of knowledge: the righteous servants have fear of Allah ﷻ in their hearts, and out of that fear they cry when they hear the words of Allah ﷻ and when they hear His Kalām!

When the heart is moved, tears flow from the eyes. Ibn al Qayyim said that there are 3 types of people:
Whose heart is dead: even when he hears the Qur’an, it is not a reminder for him.
Whose heart is alive/alert but he does not listen attentively to the Qur’an.
The one whose heart is alive and alert: willing and ready to receive the admonition from the Qur’an, the words move him to tears.

Remember! When a person cries from the fear of Allah ﷻ he is truly fortunate.

HADITH: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The Hellfire is forbidden for the eye weeping from the fear of Allah. The Hellfire is forbidden for the eye vigilant in the way of Allah ﷻ. The Hellfire is forbidden for the eye that lowers its gaze from what Allah ﷻ has forbidden.” [Nasā’ī]
