Juz 13: وَمَا ابَرِّئُ

Fight the Enemy Within!

This Āyah teaches us about the nature of the Nafs, that it urges us to do evil. Similar to an untamed horse that is very difficult to control,  we can easily be defeated by our own Nafs.

Except who?  إِلَّا مَا رَحِمَ رَبِّىٓ

Except for the person, or except those moments in which Allah’s Mercy protects one from his/her own Nafs.

This is why we should constantly ask for Allah’s Mercy. Even if one has fallen prey to his own Nafs, there is hope of recovery and this verse is proof that it is not impossible to leave what is wrong, except with the help of Allah ﷻ. So beg Him to protect from the evil of our own nafs and ask Him for His Mercy.

MASNOON DUA:

O Allah, I hope for Your mercy. Do not leave me to myself even for the blinking of an eye (i.e. a moment). Correct all of my affairs for me. There is none worthy of worship but You. [Abu Dawud]
